Information on Revenue Sharing & A Few Top Sites.

Mimzy started this conversation

Revenue sharing sites allow you to earn money due to Google advertising that is placed on the site. The site then shares it's revenues with those that post on the site. At some sites, you can also earn additional money by referring friends - If they become members of the site and post good content also.

Just like it used to be here, on Aidpage, those that made good posts, gave information or offered advice received a portion of the revenues that Aidpage got from the Google Adsense program. If they chose to be in the sharing program and had given the Aidpage team their Adsense code. Those that didn't opt in didn't get a share of the revenues.

But due to some issues, (caused by transparent backgrounds & Google ads not being shown properly) on a few homepages, Aidpage almost lost it's Adsense revenue. This money is important to Aidpage so it can be here. So they've discontinued the member revenue sharing program on here, this week.

Because some members here were negatively impacted by this decision. Even though they have the rignt to protect their own earnings, I felt that I needed to reach out to those effected the most. Especially those that count on the extra money they earn each month here.

I've decided to offer a listing of other revenue sharing sites that I've researched. I've picked out those I think are the best, but you can look for more sites if you like. This is just a list to get you started.

Bukisa.com
Burkisa allows you to earn money on the articles you write, but also allows you to earn money on those that you refer to them as well. Buksa has a two tiered system where you can make money from the articles that the people you refer write. Plus you making money on the articles from all the people that they refer too!

All writers are paid the same amount. All writers on Bukisa are paid according to an index. If the index is 3.95 each writer will get $3.95 for every 1000 views. But you don't need to get that many views on an article to be paid. You can make a little bit from each article you write. You are paid through Paypal when your earnings reach $50.

Currently, as of today, the index is at 4 - but you'll have to check the site. The index changes as the ranking of the site increases.

Bukisa is going to be adding a category for photos soon. This will offer the same opportunity for revenue as articles. It will give two opportunities to earn some money. To get more information and become a member at Bukisa.

Xomba
Xomba is another excellent revenue sharing site with a referral program. You earn ten percent of the revenue from any writer that you refer. You both still get the same amount, which is 50% earned revenue from Google Adsense ads on the site.

You need to have an Adsense acccount so you can enter your code on the Xomba site. If you don't have one, you can sign up for Adsense right on the Xomba site.

Xomba has only two types of submitions - articles of substance called Xombytes and smaller ones which describe a web page or site, called Xomblurbs. You can earn the same off either one. For those that you refer, you earn an extra ten percent off of whatever they post.

The Home page displays the higher ranking articles, which in turn tends to earn them more money since they are often viewed more. They share 60% of advertising revenue with users. To find out more check out the Xomba website.

Hubpages
Hubpages is one of the top ten Adsense revenue sharing sites. It's currently one of the top 250 most visited sites on the web. The site has a good page rank and an active community of members that rate and comment on each other's articles.

In addition to sharing Adsense revenue they share Amazon Associates, Ebay and Kontera income from the articles you write. This multi pronged approach makes the site a real winner with writers seeking to build a stream on income from articles. They share 60% of advertising revenue with users.

Because it is a hub and not a blog, you can write a hub on any topic without worrying if it relates to anything you’ve written previously or anything that you plan to write in the future.  Write just one hub or write hundreds of hubs.  It’s up to you.To find out more go to the sites home page.

The Info Mine
In addition to 80% revenue from your articles you can place your own Amazon Associates links in the text of your article, as long as the article does not read like an advertisement.

If you just want to participate, they share 100% of Amazon Associates revenue sharing you don't even have to have an Adsense account. You can write about almost any subject, such as how - to articles, stories, travel blogs, etc. There's more information on their website to check out.

eHow
For those that love to write how-to articles this is the best choice to make some money. Cook, decorate, fix, plan, garden, budget or update your wardrobe…that’s just the beginning of the kind of advice and inspiration you can find at eHow.

The more articles you write, the more your income will grow. They pay you monthly, directly to your PayPal account after you make $10. Your payments are directly linked to how much traffic your article receives, as well as the quality of the content. To find out more and become a member, visit the eHow website.

Squidoo
Squidoo is all about lenses. What's a lense? Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything you know about your topic of interest--and snap it all into focus. Like the lens of a camera, it's your perspective on something.

You could make a Me lens about yourself! Or a lens about your blog, website or social network homepage to help get more traffic to it. How about a lens for your eBay store or CafePress shop. Have a Hobby? Make a lens about it! Whatever you are interested in or have a passion for, you can make a Lens for!

Squidoo puts ads on lenses, plus you have the ability to recommend products via affiliate programs with Amazon, eBay, CafePress and others. The revenue that the company receives is split 50/50 - which you can have paid out in cash via PayPal or donate to charity.

Many earn more than $1,000 a year from Squidoo. Some have made $10,000. Others are just as happy with $40 or $4. It's your choice how you get your money for your contributions to the site. To find out more about Squidoo, go to their website.

Helium
Helium is a good place to start writing. They have a good community with articles covering many different topics. Other members also rate your articles and the community is fairly large. You can even publish your article on other sites, like Bukisa.

You get paid and keep the copyright of your article. But there is an option to sell your articles directly to Helium for exclusive rights. They pay $2-$15 depending on topic.

On the Marketplace you can directly sell articles for magazine publishers who can pay from $20-$200 per article.

Helium also has writing contests. There are usually around 10 active contests running for 2 weeks each. The top 3 ranked authors win $50, $30 and $10 respectively. If you want to check out more on Helium, visit the website.

There are many more out sites out there and many different ways to share revenue with a website. Try to join more than one so that you can get multiple income streams to guard against one not earning as much or maybe not being there anymore. Here are a few others to look at:

http://www.oondi.com/
Why should anyone else reap the benefits of your labor? When you submit your work to oondi, you get 100% of the advertisement profits.

http://www.digitaljournal.com/
Join one of the most active news sites on the Internet! Share your thoughts, vote on newsworthy articles, engage in debates and even get paid to report news as a citizen journalist.

http://www.mytripbook.com/
Share your experiences from your own travel diary- reviews, blogs, photos and videos- and map your past and future trips. Members who sign up as a travel guide can share in the advertising revenues generated from their guide page.

http://www.newsvine.com/
The Newsvine community loves investigative reporting, opinion pieces, and just about everything else considered newsworthy and in good taste. Newsvine also sells advertising around all content on the site and returns 90% of the advertising revenue from your content right back to you.

http://www.senserely.com/
As soon as you register, this basically becomes your website, with your AdSense blocks displayed next to your content, and you'll be able to write articles, reviews, and stories about your knowledge and experience on any topic you feel confortable with, as well as read, ask questions, and exchange information with others.

I hope that this information is of use and I wish everyone luck with any new venture they begin. Keep moving forward...

in response to Schmidty...   Normally I do all my pre-writing and search notes into a word pad and then write the post. This time I didn't and lost it...grr

Well, I went back and I rewrote the entire thing. Think it came out even better. lol

So hope you like the post...I really have a thing about facts and actions speaking louder than words. So I've been leaning more towards donkey and yelling about the elephant in the room that no one seems to want to mess with - IMHO that elephant is acting like a bully and a spoiled 2yr old! It definitely needs a time out!

I don't think most people like being threatened, used, lied to or conned. I also think that most support the programs that help the elderly, disabled, working families, at risk families and the low income & at risk vets that need our help. I don't think many support killing medicaid/medicare, social security & our safety net programs that help & protect people.

I feel very strongly that citizens of this country must stand up to the government if it is not doing what it was created for. lol I guess I'm rather passionate about some things.

in response to Mimzy...   When ever they freeze up like that about the only thing you can do it use the Windows Task Manager to stop the program which means loosing your data.Just like Aidpage was doing there for a while. The damn box keeps jumping around if you stop to breath when typing in it, still. I'll see what I can't round up for you.

in response to Schmidty...   If you want to send me some of them that would be great. You can send me information through my website - just follow the link to my home page.

I was writing a post here and was about to put in a link - but the link button froze up. Now I can't cancel the box and I can't highlight my post to copy it either. I don't want to lose everything I just wrote. Any idea how to unfreeze the pop up box to add a link? This is really annoying...I just spent an hour researching and writing - now I may lose it all due to a button messing up.

I'd appreciate anything you can send...just go to the contact page on my site. You could email me there...don't know if you can send me files...maybe you can give me a link so I could download them from...? Whichever way you want to do it. It would really help get a jump start on Friday.

in response to Mimzy...   Articles from what I have they cover everything walking, running, eating, just about everything you can imagine that ends in ing. Foodwhich I guess is covered by eating, every type of animal, how to train, feed, walk, etc.
You name it there is probably an article written about it.You probably could write about the freedom of speech and how it is limited on some websites.

in response to Schmidty...   I've a rather opinionated political side, but I was told that I shouldn't go too overboard with that. But I have opinions on tons of stuff so I figure that I could just share my insights.

But topics is where I'm sorta stuck - education, politics, environment & animals are all interests. But I need some more ideas that will get some attention, but will also be helpful or offer information.

So that's why I was asking about topics to write about...lol I have trouble coming up with writing ideas when I'm wanting them. When I don't want them - usually when I'm working or cooking, that is when they pop into my head.

I appreciate the help if there's any one that wants to offer it. I'm going to be getting ready to write this Friday. Hoping I don't run out of things to write about before the 22nd...

Thanks for the idea...and anything is good if you got an idea I can spin. I'll try to group them together later after I get them written. I also use Open Office for final drafting, but write mostly in Word pad. lol So I'm set to go...

in response to Mimzy...   I have a collection of articles that have been sold are being sold and given away.In marketing they have rewriters that take an article that has been written before changes it and then the article is yours.Interesting, huh. You can easily get ewriter pro which is more or less a processing program and the there is The freeware equal to windows processor.

Since I have interest in your quest also if I can help let me know. Are you looking for certain articles?

in response to Schmidty...   Thanks for the comments - I'll remember to let you know where all my posts are when I start flooding all these different sites. lol

My goal is to write about 50 articles at least. Then I'm going to start posting them up on a bunch of these writing sites. I'm going to put up a bunch of my writing and see if it generates any interest or income.

So I'm going to see just what I can do with what's out there. Right now I'm taking ideas for articles. I have a few that I can do, but I don't have enough ideas for 30-40 articles. So if anyone wants me to do an article about something that they believe needs more information posted about it - let me know. I'll try to do as many as I can. I'm probably going to have to do a bunch of research on these, but I want to make sure they are good articles.

Then I'll see what happens. I'll come back here and let everyone in on how things went too. For now the challenge is writing up all the articles. >_< not a fun prospect taken as a whole...it's rather a daunting task. But I'll tackle it one article at a time...I should have a bunch in no time. (yeah, I need to keep telling myself that - I think I can...I think I can....I think...I can....lol)

Wish me luck at reaching my goal...lol
I start the 11th & my deadline is the 22nd.
~oh boy, what am I getting myself into... o.O

in response to Mimzy...   Thanks. I didn't even think about the Alexa and it is first on google. Hell you can't tell who is lying on here. You can't trust APT, and some of the rest"who knows". It's sad. There for a while it was great until they started messing with the sharing program then it went haywire. I like a lot of your articles also. Thanks again.

in response to Schmidty...   Hey there, I've done a bit of marketing too. I do websites for clients and I've often found ways to get them ranked on the first page. I've had them at #2-4 when it wouldn't seem possible to get them listed.

I had one site, 4 static pages...total of 3 outgoing links and no ads at all. I got it at #3-4 on the first page of Yahoo, Google and Bing. But it's cause I targeted certain keywords and did a lot of networking to link other relevant sites too that site. So I had a lot of sites linking to it instead of it linking to them.

But the site owner still complained that he wasn't getting enough clients. Maybe he was greedy, maybe he just didn't follow through. His site had no contact form, just a number. He had no real information except his own, it was like an online resume & brochure on his business.

Google, Alexa, none of the ranking tools show that it has a rank at all. No data. Yet it is there on the first page of the searches...sometimes a couple of times or more. But then I figure if I keep tweaking it - I might get some sort of data captured on it.

So being on the first page doesn't always mean that you're doing really good. But it could mean you just have a really good hit on some specific keywords. I'm not sure why it works...it just did for me a few times.

Thanks for the kudos on the article. lol

in response to mamashe/sheshe...   I try to do some marketing on the net and one thing you want is to be ranked, in that ranking you get a position onthe pages. For example if you want "dog kennels" it goes to the opening page and if you are ranked number one you will be number one on that page. I put in, try it, People helping people, on Google and Yahoo and guess what website is number one. If you have that ranking and you are there a month or better you are doing fantastic.

In other words they aren't hurting. They got set back by one day. Thought I'd fill you in, on some information.

You see the advertisements on the pages , like they were/are, they have the absense from Google back. They didn't loose it but for one day and I don't know how they figure the weekend.

They just want to stay on top.

Thanks Mimzy for a thurough report that can be used by many. Very good.

Hey there my friend, wow!! I had no idea there were so many opportunities out there for us to share information with and get paid in so many different ways. After the catastrophic events here on aidpage in the last few days this information is indeed a breath of fresh air. I do have a question Mimzy, are any of these sites offer conversational posts like we have here on aidpage? In other words if I am feeling lonely or need advise on where to find dental help can I put up posts on any of these sites and have someone respond to me and help me? That is the only thing that I don't know if I read about any of these sites. I too am just sick at what has happened especially for my friends that have depended on the revenue from aidpage and I feel it's imparitive that aidpage doesn't go down the tubes because I have never been able to find a site that welcomes everyone weather they can offer advise or not and have someone speak directly to them letting them know that they are not alone in this world....I know a lot of people are very ticked off right now but from what I have gathered aidpage NEEDS to get bigger and stonger to get recognized by the big boys meaning Google etc. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I believe with all my heart that if we all work together on this that it would be possible to get the sharing program back as well as possibly the google adsence program. I think that the aidpage team knows how valuable we all are to them, and I believe that they know without our loyalty and constant posting that aidpage would not be what it is and will come up with ideas of how they can reinstate either the sharing program or go back to google adsence program or both. We all have to come out from behind the one to ones and get out thoughts on the main board like you just did. I couldn't find you on the main board so I came to your page to read this but I send you kutos for writing this post and hope you will decide to stay here with us and help encourage others not to give up yet. Thanks again for giving me a reason or an opportunity to say what is on my heart..sincerely mamashe/sheshe
